Input for this benchmarking report was collected via a short online survey, sent by invitation only to relevant risk leaders among the global Risk Leadership Network membership and wider risk community. The survey asked a series of mostly closed questions, with a small number of free text fields to collect additional insight. The research process is designed to be straightforward for participants, with simple quantitative data then used for streamlined analysis. All responses have been anonymised for this report.
A member approached us with a priority: to work out how to effectively deploy the risk resource, how to incorporate first line risk support, how to aggregate inconsistent risk information and how to ensure thta both top-down and bottom-up risk management is working effectively in the business. Together we decided that the best way to approach this was for Risk Leadership Network to create a bespoke benchmark, using insights from other organisations with similar challenges.

Of course, the benchmarks are often useful for other organisations too and we share the results. If there's an informal benchmark that would assist you in your priorities, we'll create it for you in a timely manner. Most benchmarks are complete within 8 weeks of request.
